Cariss family genealogy; three letters to Cariss, 1880-1900, from the Gibson Stained Glass Co, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the World's Columbian Exposition; a journal of his passage by sea to Europe with members of the Philadelphia Sketch Club; a photograph of Cariss; a watercolor, "Potatoe [sic] Gatherers" and an etching by Cariss; papers concerning his research for his painting, "The Oath of Allegiance at Valley Forge"; and a scrapbook containing photographs, newspaper clippings, prints, drawings, letters, and announcements about the Philadelphia Sketch Club and Cariss' artist friends Thomas Anshutz, Franklin D.
